The greatest threat to democracy isn’t this kind of bullshit. It’s ordinary, well-meaning citizens who are justifiably sick of being hit with a firehose of this kind of bullshit every time they turn on the news or open a social media app. They’re registered to vote. Most want to vote. But in the current political and media climate, the work that’s required to cast an informed vote based on reliable info is simply turning them off to the entire process. So ahead of the election, the Arizona Citizens’ Clean Elections Commission, which is the a state government agency that publishes an official, totally nonpartisan voter information guide, asked us to acknowledge voters’ frustrations…while showing them that there’s still one easy way to take care of civic business.
